PALASBARI: Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma laid the foundation stone for the construction of a Monikut at the revered Maa Durga Temple in Garal Taluk on Monday.
The project, estimated at a cost of Rs. 25 lakh, will be funded by the state government as part of its commitment to promoting religious and cultural infrastructure.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Chief Minister expressed his satisfaction at being part of a project that would further enhance the spiritual significance of the region.
“The construction of the Monikut will not only beautify the temple premises but also provide a serene environment for devotees,” he stated.
In addition to the foundation laying, CM Sarma also dedicated a new ambulance to the people of the Azara area. The ambulance has been provided under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL), aiming to strengthen healthcare services in the region.
The Chief Minister was accompanied by Assam Water Resources Minister Pijush Hazarika and other senior officials during the events.
