Guwahati: The Finance department of Assam has constituted a high-level committee to examine and review the service rules governing various small-cadre services within the state’s Finance Department. The initiative aims to streamline operations, enhance inter-service mobility, and boost overall capacity utilization.
The committee will be chaired by Virendra Mittal, Commissioner and Secretary Finance Department. Hemanta Kumar Dewri, Special Secretary, Finance (Economic Affairs) Department, will serve as a member. Additionally, one representative each from the Assam Budget Research Service, Assam Pay Research Service, Assam Finance Economic Service, and Assam Economic and Statistical Service will also be nominated as members.
The committee will examine the existing service rules of small-cadre services under the Finance Department and study the feasibility of integrating the service rules of Assam Budget Research Service, Assam Pay Research Service, and Assam Finance Service.
The committee will also propose recommendations for enhancing inter-service mobility and optimal manpower utilization.
It will suggest measures for broadening the functional exposure of officers across various wings of the Finance Department and is expected to submit its report along with specific recommendations within two weeks from the date of the notification.
