GUWAHATI: Dispur College hosted the South-East Asian Cultural Confluence 2024. The college collaborated with the Centre for South East Asian Studies, Gauhati University, and the North East Aashirvad Foundation, Guwahati, to host the programme.
This vibrant cultural fiesta, held at the Pratima Barua Pandey Auditorium, aimed to promote cultural understanding, respect, and tourism in Southeast Asia.
The event celebrated the rich diversity of the region with the participation of delegates from Southeast Asian nations, including Thailand, Vietnam, and Nepal.
Dr. Navajyoti Bora, Principal of Dispur College, emphasized the importance of fostering socio-cultural ties and unity among neighbouring nations.
Dr. Balendra Kumar Das, Pro Vice Chancellor of the University of Science and Technology, Meghalaya, paid tribute to legendary musician Dr. Bhupen Hazarika, acknowledging his efforts to promote cooperation among diverse tribes worldwide.
The programme also featured the inauguration of a commemorative souvenir, marking the third consecutive year of the South-East Asian Cultural Confluence.
