
GUWAHATI: Governor Gulab Chand Kataria condoled the demise of former Governor Padmanabha Balakrishna Acharya. In his condolence message, Kataria said, "I express my deep condolences over the demise of former Governor of Assam and Nagaland Padmanabha Balakrishna Acharya. Acharya was very dedicated and completely devoted to the noble cause of serving and uplift the people". He was also a keen observer, and as the Governor of Assam and Nagaland, he rendered his hands for the development of both states. Kataria, moreover, said that Acharya's departure leaves a void, a loss keenly felt by the nation. He served the state with deep commitment and love for the people. His death is an irreparable loss to the country. "I convey my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members and pray to the Almighty to be with the bereaved family members. May his soul rest in peace", the governor added.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also mourned the death of former Nagaland and Assam Governor P.B. Acharya, who breathed his last on Friday. In a statement on Friday, the Chief Minister said, "I mourn the death of former Governor of Nagaland and Assam P.B. Acharya, who dedicated his life to the service of the people. A committed son of the country, with his demise, the country has lost an able leader". Assam would forever remember his contributions as the governor of the state. The Chief Minister also expressed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, friends, and followers and prayed to the Almighty for eternal peace for the departed soul.
