Assam: Gauhati HC forms panel to monitor construction of toilet facilities in court premises

GUWAHATI: The Gauhati High Court formed a committee with Justice Manash Ranjan Pathak to monitor the implementation of the direction issued by the Supreme Court in the case (WP-C 538/2023) Rajeeb Kalita versus Union of India and others.

In its direction, the Supreme Court asked high courts to construct toilet facilities, especially for women, specially-abled persons and transgender in court premises in courts and tribunals across the country. The Supreme Court also directed high courts to constitute committees to be headed by judges nominated by chief justices to monitor the implementation of the apex court’s direction.        

Justice Manash Ranjan Pathak  will monitor the construction of toilet facilities, especially for women, specially abled persons and transgender in court premises and tribunals.
