Assam Government Launches Junior Elite Tennis Camp in Guwahati

Guwahati: In a major step to promote tennis among young athletes, the Government of Assam, in partnership with the Jaideep Mukherjee Tennis Academy, has launched a junior elite tennis camp in Guwahati.The camp aims to identify and nurture promising tennis players from across the state and the region.

Twenty talented youngsters will be selected for intensive training under expert coaches to improve their skills and performance at the national and international level.Officials said the initiative is part of a broader effort to revive Indian tennis by strengthening the grassroots and providing professional support early in a player’s journey.

“Through this camp, we want to build a strong foundation for future tennis champions from Assam and the Northeast,” a sports department official said.The camp is expected to open new doors for young athletes and inspire a new generation to take up the sport seriously.
