Assam Gramin Vikash Bank officers to back nationwide strike

GUWAHATI: At the call of all central trade unions, the Assam Gramin Vikash Bank Officers' Association (AGVBO) has decided to participate in the nationwide strike. AGVBO general secretary Jibesh Chakraborty said that all branches and offices of the bank will remain closed on Thursday and the officers and employees will participate in strike.

The AGVBO has opposed privatization of banks and demanded the government to strengthen public sector banks. It demanded to recover the huge corporate NPAs, increase interest rate on deposit, make adequate recruitment in banks, scrap of NPS for Bank employees, and DA linked Pension Scheme for bank employees, stated a release.
