Guwahati: The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) has taken strict action against street vendors violating cleanliness norms near the Employment Exchange Office in Rehabari.

Several carts were removed after officials observed unhygienic conditions in the area, citing concerns over sanitation and public health.

Authorities have reiterated that street vendors must ensure proper waste disposal and maintain cleanliness around their carts. Failure to comply with Swacchata norms could result in penalties or further legal action.

GMC has urged all vendors to cooperate and contribute to keeping the city clean, warning that repeated violations may lead to stricter enforcement measures.
