Guwahati: In yet another moment of pride and inspiration, the students of OIL Pragyan Super 30 from its centres in Guwahati, Nagaon, and Dibrugarh in Assam, and Itanagar in Arunachal Pradesh, have delivered an exceptional performance in the JEE Mains 2025.
In this remarkable achievement, 25 out of 30 students from the Guwahati centre, 28 out of 30 each from the Nagaon and Dibrugarh centres, and 29 out of 30 from the Itanagar centre have successfully qualified the prestigious national-level examination.
Launched in 2010 by Oil India Limited (OIL), the flagship OIL Pragyan Super 30 initiative is aimed at promoting higher education and equal opportunities for talented students from economically weaker sections. The programme offers 11 months of completely free, fully residential coaching and academic mentoring to meritorious students from underprivileged backgrounds, preparing them for India’s most competitive entrance exams like JEE (Mains & Advanced) and NEET. Over the past 15 years, this transformative initiative has been instrumental in bridging the educational gap by enabling deserving students to gain admission into premier institutions such as the IITs, NITs, and top medical colleges across the country.
In the Northeast, OIL currently offers engineering entrance coaching (JEE) through four centres located in Guwahati, Nagaon, and Dibrugarh in Assam, and Itanagar in Arunachal Pradesh. For medical entrance coaching (NEET), a centre operates exclusively in Jorhat, Assam. Since its inception, 1,361 out of 1,482 students enrolled across the four centres have secured admission to prestigious institutions such as IITs, ISM Dhanbad, IIST (ISRO), ISI, IISER, BIT Patna, IIITs, Indian Maritime University (Kolkata), NITs, and other state engineering colleges.
Admission into the programme follows a rigorous two-stage selection process, a written test followed by an academic interview. Eligibility is restricted to candidates from families with an annual income of less than Rs 4 lakh, ensuring that the support reaches truly deserving students.
The vision of OIL Pragyan Super 30 extends beyond academics. The initiative also focuses on character development, self-discipline, and leadership, nurturing students to not only excel academically but also become changemakers in their communities.
