
Guwahati: State Minister of Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Krishnendu Paul paid a visit to the College of Veterinary Science, Khanapara, on Tuesday.
Dr. Bibekananda Saikia, Dean of the College, highlighted the institution's achievements in teaching, research, and extension in the field of veterinary science.
Paul lauded the college for its active role in advancing veterinary research and called upon both students and faculty to focus on innovation and scientific solutions that can uplift the farming community.
Dr. Bidyut Chandan Deka, Vice-Chancellor of Assam Agricultural University, also addressed the gathering, while Dr. Prabodh Borah, Director of Research, delivered the vote of thanks.
Following the formal session, the minister visited the college's ongoing project under the Rashtriya Gokul Mission. He reviewed the progress of the initiative, which is focused on revolutionizing cattle breeding in Assam through advanced technologies like in vitro fertilization (IVF), embryo transfer, and sex-sorted semen techniques, a press release said.
