Guwahati: In a major breakthrough, a team from Noonmati Police Station successfully rescued a minor girl from Boro Tungharang in Doyangmukh, Dima Hasao district. Acting swiftly on credible inputs, the team traced the missing minor and ensured her safe recovery. After the completion of all legal formalities, she was handed over to her legal guardians.

In a separate operation, Noonmati Police also busted a human trafficking racket and rescued a woman who had allegedly been trafficked and sold in Rajasthan. The case came to light following a complaint lodged by the woman’s sister. Acting on crucial technical inputs and ground-level intelligence, the CGPD team tracked the victim to Shree Guru Jambheswar Bani Dham in Churu district of Rajasthan. With the help of Rajasthan Police, the woman was rescued and brought back to safety.

Further investigation led to a follow-up operation in Fatasil Ambari, resulting in the arrest of two women involved in the trafficking network. The accused have been identified as Dashami Devi (55), originally from Muzaffarpur in Bihar, and Popi Deka (30), a resident of Jorhat in Assam.

Police recovered Rs 53,000 in cash, suspected to be part of the transaction amount, along with gold bangles, mobile phones, and railway tickets during the raid. Legal proceedings have been initiated against the accused.
