Assam: Police Arrested Peddlers with Drugs

GUWAHATI: Azara Police seized 11 vials of suspected heroin weighing 15 gm under the seat of the driver of a Tata Magic at Bongara this morning. According to the police, the Tata Magic (AS25DC7818) was intercepted by the police on suspicion. The police arrested the driver, Sadhar Ali, hailing from Lahorighat in the Morigaon district. In another incident, Basistha Police arrested another drug peddler, Hasna Khatun, from the Beharbari area yesterday. The police seized 532 grams of ganja from her. She hails from Dhubri. Police personnel from the Udalbakra outpost destroyed 150 litres of country liquor at Bishnu Rabha Path. Basistha police also arrested a drug peddler, Basanti Basumary, who had been absconding following the issuance of a non-bailable arrest warrant (110/24) against her. The police arrested her from the Khanapara area. The police arrested her with 15.14 grams of suspected heroin.
