Assam: Police Officers Transferred, Four Promoted to Selection Grade

Guwahati: The Assam government has effected a major reshuffle in the police department, transferring several IPS and APS officers, and promoting four IPS officers to the Selection Grade of IPS in Level 13 of the Pay Matrix.

As per a notification from the Home (A) Department, Samiksha Ratneshchand Jain, Assistant Superintendent of Police of Sonitpur, has been transferred and posted as Assistant SP (OSD to DGP) at Assam Police Headquarters. V Soilemthang Vaiphei, Assistant Superintendent of Police of Bongaigaon, has been posted as SDPO, Bhergaon, Udalguri.

Among APS officers, Bidyut Bikas Tayung, Assistant Commandant, 4th APBn, Kahilipara, has been transferred as DSP (HQ), Majuli; Durga Kinkor Sarmah SDPO Bhergaon, Udalguru transferred as DSP (HQ), Sonitpur; and Dwipen Kalita DSP (HQ), Sonitpur transferred as DSP (Border), Darrang.

Meanwhile, in another notification, four IPS officers—Jayshree Khersa, David Neitham, Mugdhajyoti Dev Mahanta, and Dr. Bedanta Madhab Rajkhowa—have been promoted to the Selection Grade of IPS in Level 13 in the Pay Matrix with effect from January 18, 2025. All will continue in their current postings until further orders.
