Assam P&RD Minister Naba Kumar Doley reviews schemes for helping lockdown hit

GUWAHATI: State Panchayat & Rural Development (P&RD) Minister Naba Kumar Doley reviewed the schemes launched for giving succour to the needy people during the COVID-19 lockdown, in a video conferencing on Monday.

All deputy commissioners, filed officers, chief executives of Zila Parishads, DRDA officers and others were present at the video conferencing. The Minister has warned the P&RD employees that no corruption in the schemes meant for the lockdown affected and needy people will be tolerated.

Doley informed the officers that MGNREGA works will resume soon under COVID-19 guidelines issued by the Government of India. “The workers will have to wear masks and wash their hands frequently, besides scrupulously maintaining social distancing,” the Minister said, and added: “PMAY works will also start soon under strict adherence to COVID-19 guidelines.”
