GUWAHATI: The Assam government’s holiday list for the calendar year 2025 has 36 gazetted holidays, one half-holiday, two holidays under the NI Act, etc.

According to a notification issued by the government, offices will be closed on January 14 and 15 for Magh Bihu and Tusu Puja; January 23 for the birthday of Netaji; January 26 for Republic Day; January 28 for Bathou Puja; January 31 for Me-Dam-Me-Phi; February 12 for Bir Chilarai Divas; March 14 for Dol Jatra; March 31 for Id-ul-Fitr; April 14, 15, and 16 for Bohag Bihu; April 18 for Good Friday; April 21 for Sati Sadhini Divas and Damodor Dev Tothi; May 1 for May Day; May 12 for Buddha Purnima; June 7 for Id-ul Zuha; June 12 for Sri Sri Madhabdev Janmotsav; August 15 for Independence Day; August 25 for tithi of Sankardev; September 3 for Karam Puja; September 12 for tithi of Madhabdev; September 14 for Janmashtomi; September 29-October 2 for Durga Puja, Janmautsav of Srimanta Sankaedev, and the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi; October 18 for Kati Bihu; October 20 for Diwali; October 23 for Bhatri Dwitiya; October 28 for Chhath Puja; November 5 for Guru Nanak’s birthday; November 24 for Lachit Divas; December 2 for Siu-Ka-Pha Divas; and December 25 for Christmas.

October 6 will be a half-holiday for Lakshmi Puja.
