GUWAHATI: The Assam State Primary Teachers’ Association (ASPTA) will be celebrating the foundation day and will also inaugurate the ‘Maharajat Jayanti’ on November 23. The ASPTA was formed under the presidency of Nilmani Phookan with 1200 teachers in 1949 in Silchar, and since then, the ASPTA has been working for school education, students, and teachers.
ASPTA general secretary Ratul Chandra Goswami said, “Our association is also a member of the All India Primary Teachers’ Federation (AIPTF) and Education International. ASPTA will be 75 years on November 23. The foundation day will be observed at Silchar on November 23, where the foundation of the association started, and will also inaugurate a year-long programme. A five-day concluding programme of the ‘Maharajat Jayanti’ will be observed in Hailakandi in 2024.”
