GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Police have successfully recovered the stolen bike of Uttarakhand-based bikers, “Rider Noni”, from Fakirganj in the Dhubri district. The thieves stole the bike of a rider from Uttarakhand named Mohit from Guwahati, in the night on March 5 from Maddy’s Guest House on Kali Mandir Road, Sarusajai. The bike was retrieved following a coordinated operation by Basistha Police and Fakirganj Police led by ADCP (East).

According to police sources, the bike was brought to Basistha Police Station late at night after its recovery. The police, acting on intelligence report, raided a hideout and arrested two receivers, identified as Firoz Kazi (32) and Asraful Dewan (23), in connection with the theft. A case (140/25) has been registered at Basistha Police Station. Rider Noni took to her social media handle and said, “A heartfelt thank you to Guwahati and Assam Police for recovering our lost bike within five days. Also, I would like to thank all my well-wishers on social media who cooperated with me and helped to reach out to the city police.” The investigation revealed that the suspects had planned to sell the stolen bike outside the state.

“Rider Noni,” a biker from Uttarakhand, has been on a 30,000-km “Women Empowerment” ride, covering nearly half of India over the last six months. She faced a distressing ordeal in Assam when she discovered that her bike had been stolen.
