Assam: TET-cum-recruitment exam today; 69,582 candidates to vie for 9,717 posts

GUWAHATI: The Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB), Division I, will hold the TET-cum-Recruitment Examination—2024 for filling in 8230 vacancies of graduate teachers and 1487 vacancies of postgraduate teachers in nine districts in the state tomorrow. The total number of vacancies is 9,717. The vacancies for graduate teachers are in arts, science, Hindi, and Sanskrit.

As many as 39,224 candidates will take the examination for the posts of graduate teachers in the morning shift, and 30,358 candidates will vie for the post of postgraduate teachers in the afternoon shift. While the examination for the post of graduate teachers will be held in 57 centres, the examination for postgraduate posts will be held in 44 centres.

The nine districts and their number respective number of candidates and centres are: 3821 candidates for graduate posts in five centres and 2416 postgraduate posts in four centre in the Cachar district; 3104 candidates for graduate posts in four centres and 2761 postgraduate posts in three centres in the Dibrugarh district; 2863 candidates for graduate posts in six centres and 2990 postgraduate posts in six centres in the Jorhat district; 1851 candidates for graduate posts in two centres and 1320 postgraduate posts in two centres in the Kamrup district; 11,447 candidates for graduate posts in 14 centres and 8486 postgraduate posts in ten centres in the Kamrup (M) district; 5729 candidates for graduate posts in eight centres and 3855 postgraduate posts in four centres in the Kokrajhar district; 2064 candidates for graduate posts in three centres and 1973 postgraduate posts in three centres in the Lakhimpur district; 4537 candidates for graduate posts in eight centres and 3654 postgraduate posts in six centres in the Nalbari district; and 3808 candidates for graduate posts in seven centres and 2903 postgraduate posts in six centres in the Sonitpur district.
