Assam: Three Drug Traffickers Arrested In Separate Operations By Guwahati Police

Guwahati Police have arrested multiple individuals involved in drug trafficking, seizing heroin, ganja, and cash in separate operations.

GUWAHATI: Guwahati Police have intensified their crackdown on drug-related crimes, leading to the arrest of three individuals in separate operations conducted by the city’s law enforcement teams.

In the first operation, a Central Guwahati Police Department team from Panbazar Police Station apprehended Deepak Sing (18) of Bharalumukh at 5 No. Rail Gate in Fancy Bazaar. He was caught in possession of five vials of heroin weighing 6.96 grams, 18 pouches of ganja weighing 100.25 grams, and seven bottles of Omni Chemical Vulcanising Fluid. The police also recovered ₹1,920 in cash from him.

Based on intelligence reports, the Panbazar Police team arrested 26-year-old Toiman Nessa from Bihpuria near 2 No. Railway Gate for selling drugs. The police seized 14 vials of heroin weighing 18.73 grams, nine syringes, and a keypad mobile phone during the operation.

Meanwhile, in a significant raid, an East Guwahati Police Department team from Basistha Police Station targeted a hideout at Kali Mandir Path in Beharbari and arrested Amina Khatun (23) of Boko, a notorious drug peddler. The police seized a massive 21.6 kilograms of ganja, along with ₹1,100 in cash and a mobile phone.

The Guwahati police have taken legal action against all three accused. Guwahati Police are taking strong steps against those involved in the illegal trade.
