Guwahati: Assam University Vice-Chancellor and Alumni Association Chairman Prof. Rajive Mohan Pant felicitated Sam, an alumnus of the Department of Mass Communication (1999–2001 batch) of Assam University and an award-winning British-Indian film director, producer, and internationally recognized VFX specialist.

The ceremony, held at the VC’s Secretariat, marked Sam’s return to his alma mater to deliver a lecture under the ‘Alumni Speak’ series organized by the Department of Mass Communication.

Prof. Pant lauded Sam as “a shining example of Assam University’s global alumni success” and praised his “extraordinary journey from the Mass Communication department to international acclaim,” calling it a source of inspiration for students.

Drawing on over two decades of experience in filmmaking and advanced visual effects, Sam discussed how emerging technologies are revolutionizing media production, storytelling, and audience engagement. He urged students to move beyond conventional career paths, embracing innovation and global collaboration.
