 GUWAHATI: The Atal Pension Yojana Outreach programme, a collaborative effort by the State Level Bankers Committee (SLBC) and the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA), was organized on Friday in Guwahati.

The programme was graced by the presence of esteemed guests, including Pravesh Kumar, Chief General Manager, PFRDA; Priyanka Gupta, DGM, PFRDA; Lunkim Thangboi, GM, SBI; Debashish Gangopadhayay, Chariman, AGVB; H.T. Baviskar, general manager, Canara Bank; Pravin Awasthi, DGM, SBI; and Hemant Gadge, DGM, SLBC, among others.

The programme aimed to increase awareness about the benefits of the Atal Pension Yojana, which has already engaged over 5.9 crore individuals nationwide. Over 200 individuals, encompassing diverse roles such as various banking officials, coordinators, customers, and representatives from Customer Service Points, self-help groups, public sector undertakings (PSUs), and private banks, participated in the event.

Pravesh Kumar, Chief General Manager, PFRDA, highlighted the need to involve more people in the scheme, emphasizing its widespread availability across all banks. The inauguration also featured speeches from Hemant Gadge, Deputy General Manager, State Level Bankers Committee, who emphasised the lifeline role of the Atal Pension Yojana for senior citizens. Lunkim Thangboi, GM, SBI, highlighted the crucial role of the Atal Pension Yojana for senior citizens in his address, stated a press release.
