Autumn Session of Assam Legislative Assembly Ends

GUWAHATI: On the concluding day of its Autumn Session, the 15th Assam Legislative Assembly (ALA) passed 13 Bills on Monday.

These Bills included the Assam Police (Amendment) Bill, 2022; the Assam Taxation (on Specified Lands) (Amendment) Bill, 2022; the Assam Goods and Services(Amendment) Bill, 2022; the Assam Appropriation Acts (Repeal) Bill, 2022; the Assam Contingency Funds Acts (Repeal) Bill, 2022; the Society Registration (Assam Amendment) Bill, 2022; the Assam Fixation of Ceiling on Land Holdings (Amendment) Bill, 2022; the Registration (Assam Amendment) Bill, 2022; the Assam Repealing Bill, 2022; the Assam Non-Government Educational Institutions (Regulation of Fees) (Amendment) Bill, 2022; the Girijananda Choudhury University, Assam Bill, 2022; the Auniati University Bill, 2022; and the Pragjyotishpur University Bill, 2022.

It may be mentioned that earlier in the Autumn Session, the Assembly had passed some other Bills as well. These were the Assam Municipal (Amendment) Bill, 2022; the Assam Municipal Corporation (Amendment) Bill, 2022; the Assam Aerial Ropeways Bill, 2022; the Assam Unified Metropolitan Transport Authority Bill, 2022; the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (Amendment) Bill, 2022; the Guwahati Metropolitan Development (Amendment) Bill, 2022; the Guwahati Building Construction (Amendment) Bill, 2022; the Assam Town & Country Planning (Amendment) Bill, 2022; the Assam Motor Vehicle Taxation (Amendment) Bill, 2022 and the Assam Land and Revenue Regulation (Amendment) Bill, 2022.

The Autumn Session had commenced on September 12 and it was adjourned sine die by Speaker Biswajit Daimary on Monday.
