Bag containing Rs 4 lakh snatched near ICICI Bank in Basistha

GUWAHATI: Two bike-borne miscreants snatched a bag containing Rs 4 lakh from a person named Aurobindo Kumar near the ICICI Bank in Basistha on Tuesday. The victim has lodged an FIR at the Basistha Police Station and the investigation is on.

Recently, a bag snatcher hailing from Katihar in Bihar was nabbed by the public after a hot chase when he was fleeing by snatching a bag containing Rs 3 lakh from a petrol depot at Beltola here.

According to the police, two motorcycle-borne youths came and snatched a bag containing Rs 3 lakh from a petrol depot at Beltola. While one of the youths, Sonu Kumar Yadav, was caught by the public, the other, Raju Kumar Yadav, managed to escape. Sonu was handed over to Basistha Police. Sonu Kumar Yadav confessed before the police that they came to Assam just for stealing.
