Bhangagarh Police raid Tapan Bhuyan's house over mobile theft

GUWAHATI: The Bhangagarh Police on Saturday raided the house of Tapan Bhuyan, the owner of a shop in Bhangagarh named Sell Point.

Bhuyan on April 24 had lodged a complaint that mobile phones worth Rs. 10 lakh were looted from his shop. After he failed to provide a list of the items that were looted the Bhangagarh police raided his house following which a total of 143 mobile phones and other accessories were recovered.

However, the police have not yet arrested Bhuyan and are investigating the matter. It is to be mentioned that, in his complaint Bhuyan stated that his shop has been looted 12 times in the past.
