Bike-borne robbers snatch bag full of cash in Narengi area of Guwahati

GUWAHATI: A robbery was reported in Narengi, where a woman’s bag containing Rs 3.5 lakh was snatched by two bike-borne robbers. The incident took place in front of the Union Bank of India on Thursday evening.
According to sources, the woman withdrew Rs 3.5 lakh in cash from the Union Bank of India and was heading towards her parked car. Upon reaching her car, the robbers told her that her money fell from her bag, and while she was picking up two notes of Rs 20 denominations from the road, one of the robbers on a Pulsar bike snatched the bag of cash from her hand and fled from the scene towards Patharkuwari. The victim lodged a complaint at Noonmati Police Station, and based on the complaint, the police started an investigation into the matter. They also reached the site to look into the CCTV footage of the bank.
