"Bikes of the same feather": Guwahati Traffic Police issues warning to violators with clever pun

Guwahati: Continuing the drive against illegal parking in Guwahati, Guwahati city police has clamped several bikes for violating the 'no parking' rule in the city on Tuesday (September 29). The city traffic police department has also used a clever play on words to issue its warning.

Sharing pictures of as many as 3 bikes that have been clamped in a "no parking" area, the Guwahati traffic police via its official Twitter handle wrote, "Bikes of the same feather get locked together! Please park responsibly."

Last week, the Guwahati traffic police had shown exemplary impartiality by clamping a police vehicle in the Chandmari area in the city, garnering praise in the process.

"Equality before law", Guwahati Traffic Police declared on Twitter, after sharing a picture in which a police jeep had been clamped in Guwahati.

The vehicle was reportedly booted by the traffic police personnel of the city for parking in a "no parking" zone, and the police had shared the picture on social media as a warning for potential violators of the law.

This striking picture evoked strong reactions on social media, with the locals heaping praise on the traffic police department for not buckling upon being confronted with a tricky situation.

Needless to say, netizens commented on the picture with rather encouraging words to prop up the police and encourage them in this new initiative.

"Gud job. Guwahati police won hearts since last few months. In every department, there will be people who makes mistakes but that doesn't mean we will criticize entire department. Guwahati Police is becoming better and better day by day (sic)," wrote a Twitterati, clearly impressed.

"Wow !!!! This is unbelievable. And in fact an apt example to all. We are proud of you (sic)," wrote another user, lauding the Guwahati police's work.
