'Branding' sans permission barred

GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has come down heavily on the latest trend of various types of advertisements – including hoardings and flex banners even by departments. In this regard, he tweeted, "I do not endorse this kind of branding at all. Instruction has been issued not to use my picture from now onwards without the prior approval of my office."

It may be mentioned that on the occasion of the death anniversary of Bharat Ratna Lokapriya Gopinath Bardoloi – the first Chief Minister of Assam, flex banners were displayed at a few places across the city on Thursday. Incidentally, the flex banner showed the CM in a much larger profile than that of the first Chief Minister of Assam. CM Sarma tweeted when he saw these flex banners.
