BSF lends a helping hand to border population
GUWAHATI: The BSF (Border Security Force) under the Frontier HQ BSF Guwahati, apart from manning Indo-Bangladesh International Border, also assist the border population in emergency situations by providing medical assistance.
On December 2, 2021, Dr Arpan Karmakar of the Health and Wellness Centre of Binachar Village in Dhubri District of Assam informed the Post Commander of border Out Post Binachar of the 19BnBSF that a lady namely Mojida Bibi (35 years), resident of Binachar Village within Dhubri District of Assam), sustained severel head injuries during a road accident and requested the Post Commander to evacuate the unconscious patient immediately to nearest hospital by BSF vehicle.
The BSF Post Commander immediately responded and evacuated the above injured lady to nearest Government hospital in Dhubri in Assam in a BSF vehicle and saved her life.
Besides on December 2 and 3, 2021, troops of BOP Badalgiri also evacuated a pregnant lady -- namely Sunati Barman (22 years), daughter of Dulal Barman and resident of Badalgiri Village in Coochbehar District of West Bengal), to the nearest Government hospital in a BSF vehicle.
Due to the timely action taken by BSF, the precious lives of both ladies could be saved, stated a press release.
The local village president and member along with the villagers have thanked and appreciated the good work done by BSF. Nevertheless, the Border Security Force is dedicated to the Security of the Borders of India as well as providing help to the border population as its guiding principle and ethos.
