Children of Shishu Sarothi celebrate pre-Diwali in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: Diwali celebration started early at Shishu Sarothi. The children of Shishu Sarothi prepared around 10,000 bright, colourful diyas which were even showcased at two exhibitions held on November 2nd and 3rd at NEDFi Hut and NERIM Institute. Notably, the ornamental, hand-coloured diyas have always been an attraction for buyers who wait for this time of the year. Moreover, on November 5th, the Shishu Sarothi also celebrated pre-Diwali at its centre which the children mark this festival of lights by lighting diyas and bursting crackers. The members of Shishu Sarothi also made a big, bright rangoli using eco-friendly materials and colors. However, a rangoli making competition was in fact organised for the children who were accompanied by teachers and trainers. Meanwhile, Ujjal Baruah, Additional DCP visited the centre and spent his Diwali with the inmates of Shishu Sarothi.
