CID arrested forest official for charging money from victims under RTI applications

GUWAHATI: An incident of a Forest official charging money from victims under RTI applications, besides supplying government information to others has come to light in Guwahati. The State CID arrested Survey and Demarcation Deputy Ranger of Kamrup (East) Forest Division Iqbal Anwar on such charges recently. There was a case (27/19 u/s 120(B)/500/506/387 and added section 389 IPC) to this effect.
