GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma extended his greetings to the people of Assam on the occasion of Rongali Bihu and Assamese New Year.

In a statement, Chief Minister Sarma said that Rongali Bihu brings new hope and possibility, which also reinforces our age-old bond of unity and camaraderie. He wished the people on this occasion and hoped that Bihu festivities give a new impetus to peace, progress and prosperity among all sections of people in the state. He also urged the people to take a pledge on this occasion to commit themselves for welfare of all and overall development of the State.

Industries and Commerce Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary has also extended his heartiest greetings to the people of Assam on the occasion of Rongali Bihu.

In a message, Patowary said, "I wish the Rongali Bihu festival fill the lives of the people with lots of colour, zeal and positivity. I also hope that Rongali Bihu ushers in joy, happiness and prosperity to the state."

He further appealed to the people of Assam to follow all traffic regulations and prevent accidents during the Bihu festivity.
