
GUWAHATI: In a significant move, Guwahati witnessed the reduction in the prices of commercial liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders by Rs. 44.5 per cylinder on April 1. In Guwahati, the price of a 19 kg commercial cylinder has decreased from Rs. 2,003 to Rs. 1,958.50 per cylinder.
Meanwhile, the price of a 19-kg commercial cooking gas cylinder has been slashed by Rs. 41 in the national capital. In Delhi, a 19-kg commercial gas cylinder would now cost Rs. 1,762 after the price reduction.
Additionally, the price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder in Kolkata has been reduced by Rs. 44.50, and it will now be priced at Rs. 1,868.50. Meanwhile, in Guwahati, the price of non-subsidized cooking gas remained unchanged at Rs. 852 per 14.2-kg cylinder.
Based on the average international price in the previous month, state-owned Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (BPCL), and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (HPCL) revise cooking gas and ATF prices on the first of every month.
Meanwhile, oil marketing companies reduced the price of the 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder by Rs 7 earlier in January, just ahead of the Union Budget presentation in the Lok Sabha. The rate cut took effect immediately, making a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder available for Rs 1,797 in Delhi.
