GUWAHATI: A cooperative mela is to be organized by the Department of Cooperation at Ganesh Mandir Indoor Stadium Playground, Khanapara, from January 9 to 11. The mela will be inaugurated by Minister of Cooperation Nandita Garlosa on January 9.
The Cooperative Mela aims to showcase the achievements and potential of the cooperative sector in Assam and to provide a platform for marketing and networking for cooperative societies and federations. The Cooperative Mela will feature more than 100 stalls displaying a variety of products, such as handicrafts, handlooms, dairy products, spices, honey, organic farming, etc. The Cooperative Mela will also have cultural programmes, seminars, workshops, and competitions among the school and college students.
The Cooperative Mela will also provide an opportunity for the cooperative societies and federations to interact with each other, with government officials and experts, and to explore new avenues for cooperation and collaboration. The Department of Cooperation invites all the citizens of Assam to visit the Cooperative Mela to support and encourage the rural artisans and craftsmanship of the cooperative sector across the state, stated a press release.
