COVID-19 pandemic: Indian Red Cross Society organized awareness drive for GMC workers

GUWAHATI: The Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Assam State Branch in association with the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) is conducted an awareness programme for the frontline workers on the importance of using masks and gloves and other precautionary measures to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.

The representatives IRCS conducted the awareness campaign in Division I and Division II on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively. The volunteers of the society demonstrated the correct way of washing hands, maintaining hygiene and social distancing and the guidelines of COVID-19. One of the workers of IRCS, Assam State Branch said that it’s the responsibility of everyone to willingly help the government in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic. He said, “Even in the period of lockdown the workers of GMC are doing their duty to keep the city clean so that the public does not face any problem.
