COVID protocols to stay till January 10

GUWAHATI: The COVID-19 protocols issued by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) will continue to stay till January 10, 2021, the Chief Secretary said in a statement on Thursday.

The statement further said that large gatherings in enclosed spaces without proper social distancing and maintenance of other COVID protocols run the risk of spread of coronavirus. This has led us to obey the following guidelines in the coming festivals.

(i) No gathering in excess of 50 persons will be allowed, (ii) in any given enclosed space, whether private or public, the total number of attendees shall in any case not exceed 50 per cent space capacity, (iii) in case of outdoor events the gathering shall be restricted to ensure physical distancing being maintained at all times, (iv) any or all religious festivities are encouraged to be conducted, preferably indoor, (v) where religious functions are to be observed in place of public gathering, adequate social distancing and all other protocols of COVID management are to be followed strictly, (vi) organizers should ensure universal use of musk, hand sanitization and mandatory test of COVID-19 for staff, (VII) District Magistrates, Superintendents of all districts shall ensure strict compliance of this order, a press release said.
