GUWAHATI: A cultural troupe from Assam was allegedly robbed on the way from Nongstrain to Shillong on Sunday. The troupe had gone to a place near Nongstoin for shooting a music album.

Miscreants demanded money from them and took away their cameras. "I will never go to such an isolated place again. There was no mobile network. I was so scared," said Priyanka Saikia, the actress of the video album. The troupe informed the media that around Rs 6,000 was looted by the miscreants.

"Our group came back to Assam and filed a police complaint with the Boko police. But no case was registered as the incident took place in Meghalaya," said singer Ram Kishan.

On Monday, Meghalaya Police arrested all the accused in connection with the incident. Taking to Twitter, Meghalaya police wrote, "In connection with the incident of robbery along Shillong-Tura highway near Nongstoin, @wkhpolice took prompt action and all accused have been apprehended. FIR registered at Boko PS is being forwarded to Nongstoin PS and legal follow-up action is being taken."
