Death anniversary of AIR newsreader Golap Saikia observed in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: The first death anniversary of news reader of All India Radio (AIR) Guwahati, Golap Saikia was observed on Sunday in office campus of AIR.

The prize distribution ceremony of the Golap Saikia Memorial News Reading competition was also held. A total of 15 participants in three groups were awarded. Principal Director General of AIR News, N Venudhar Reddy, Director Engineer of AIR Guwahati, R C Bodo, Programme Head Rajiv Baruah and Head of Regional News Unit, Manas Pratim Sarma and several collegues of Golap Saikia remembered his contribution and work. At the outset, Bonti Hazarika, wife of Golap Saikia, and others paid floral tributes to him.
