DTE Assam Opens Diploma Engg & Tech Admissions from May 19

GUWAHATI: The Directorate of Technical Education, Assam, has issued an official notification inviting applications for admission into three-year diploma courses in Engineering and Technology for the academic session 2025-26. Interested candidates can apply online through the official website www.dte.assam.gov.in between May 19 and June 7, 2025. Candidates who are not permanent residents of Assam are also eligible to apply under the Central Government employee quota.

Applications must be submitted online, as no other mode of submission will be accepted. The date for the declaration of the merit list will be announced later.

To be eligible, applicants must have passed the HSLC or an equivalent examination in a single sitting, with Mathematics and Science as compulsory subjects. They must have cleared both the theory and practical components of the subjects individually. A minimum average of 40% marks in Mathematics and Science is required for General and OBC/MOBC candidates, 35% for Scheduled Caste (SC) candidates, 33% for Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates, and as per the applicable category criteria for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs).

The minimum age for applicants is 16 years as of December 31, 2025, with no upper age limit. Candidates must also possess a Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) and valid caste or Non-Creamy Layer certificates, as applicable. Applicants under the Central Government employee quota should refer to the special instructions provided on the official website.
