Gauhati Commerce College celebrates Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav

GUWAHATI: Gauhati Commerce College NSS and NCC units celebrated Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav by organizing different activities both within and outside the college premises.

Under the leadership of Programme Officers of both the NSS units, Dr Sweta Pegu and Dr Sumadhur Roy, around 15 volunteers have been actively participating in the "HAR GHAR TIRANGA" campaign from 3 August 2022 by spreading awareness across different households in regard to bringing the tricolour home. On 12th August 2022, NSS volunteers carried out class campaigns within the college premises to disseminate information and the importance of the tricolour among 1300 students. Further, on the same day, a quiz competition and performance of patriotic songs were organized with the involvement of the faculty members and around 400 students. The National Flag was hoisted on the college campus on 13th August 2022 at 7:30 am. On the occasion of the 75th Independence Day, the hoisting of the National Flag will be followed by a bike rally with the participation of the students and teachers alike on 15th August 2022, a press release said.
