Gauhati High Court ordered High-level Probe into Supari Syndicate

GUWAHATI: Gauhati High Court ordered a high-level probe into the alleged supari syndicate on Wednesday. The responsibility has been entrusted to Central Excise. 27 supari-loaded trucks were previously intercepted by city police and the people of Assam remain baffled as to whether the Chief Minister is at all aware of what is going on behind the scenes with reference to the media reported ‘Syndicate Raj’ in the State. What is of utmost importance is the duping of the Government of India of crore of rupees in GST and also of tax-evasion to the Assam government.
