Goodricke tea brands launched at Guwahati Tea Auction Centre Tea Lounge

GUWAHATI: In commemoration of the 200-year of the Assam tea industry, Tea giant Goodricke Group launched four exclusive brands of Assam single estate tea at the Guwahati Tea Auction Centre Tea Lounge on Friday.

The Assam single estate teas are an exclusive offering of the Goodricke Group, with selected teas from four of their own tea estates, namely Dejoo, Harmutty, Amgoorie, and Borbam, all located in the Brahmaputra Valley. The Assam single estate range has both CTC and Orthodox teas, is named after their tea gardens, and is crafted with the finest handpicked leaves. The four varieties come with malty and musky notes and are the first choice for tea sommeliers for their rich texture, smoothness, and full-bodied liquor.

Speaking on the launch occasion, MD and CEO of Goodricke Group Limited, Atul Asthana, reiterated the Goodricke Group's commitment to bringing a quality and authentic tea experience to consumers. Referring to Goodricke's Assam Single Estate, he asserted that the single estate teas are a tribute to Assam tea connoisseurs who look for a rich, superior, and authentic taste of the finest Assam teas. The event was attended by the Vice President, Consumer Division, P.T. Krishnan; Goodricke Group General Manager (Operations), Talat Ahmed; Executive Director, Tea Board of India, North Eastern Zonal Office, Arunita Phukan Yadav, among others.

Pertinently, Goodricke Group Limited is an India-based tea producing company headquartered in West Bengal. It is a part of the UK-based Camellia PLC UK, the world's largest private sector tea producer. The company has a total of 12 tea gardens in Assam, with 10 in the Brahmaputra Valley and 2 in the Barak Valley, stated a press release.
