GUWAHATI: State Governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi condoled the death of former Union Minister Jaswant Singh who breathed his last on Saturday.

In a condolence message today, Prof. Mukhi said, "The death of Jaswant Singh, a former Defense, Finance and External Affairs Minister is a great loss to the nation". As a Union Minister he put up a good show and served the nation as well as its people with dedication and diligence. His death would create a void to the socio-economic and political landscape of the nation. However, he left behind a rich legacy which would be a source of inspiration to the posterity.

"I express my empathy to the bereaved family members and pray to the Almighty for eternal peace of the departed soul".

Meanwhile, in another release Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal also condoled the death of former Union Minister Jaswant Singh. He prayed for the eternal peace of the leader.

In yet another press release, Industries and Commerce Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary has condoled the demise of former Union Minister Jaswant Singh. In a condolence statement, the Minister said, 'Jaswant Singhserved the nation in different capacities and his contributionas a scholar, statesman, diplomat and author is unparalleled.His dedication and service to the people will be remembered by generations.'

He also prayed to the Almighty for eternal peace of the departed soul and extended his condolences to members of the bereaved family.
