Guwahati: 18 individuals held in late-night raid at Ganeshguri area

Guwahati: In a late-night crackdown on rising antisocial activities, Dispur Police conducted a surprise raid in the Ganeshguri area on Sunday post-midnight. The operation led to the detention of 18 individuals, including six men, six women, and six transgender persons.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (East), Mrinal Deka, the raid was carried out following multiple complaints of snatching, theft, and other antisocial activities frequently reported in the area.

“Such raids will continue in the coming days to ensure public safety and restore order in trouble-prone zones,” Deka said.
