Guwahati: 20.87 Lakh Assam Farmers get Benefits of PM-KISAN

Around 20.87 lakh farmers of Assam got the benefits of the 19th tranche of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN).

GUWAHATI: Around 20.87 lakh farmers of Assam got the benefits of the 19th tranche of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN). Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the amount for this tranche for the entire country from Bhagalpur in Bihar today. A beneficiary farmer gets Rs 2,000 per installment under PM-KISAN.

According to sources in the Agriculture Department, Assam, the 20.87 lakh farmers who benefitted under PM-KISAN got a total of Rs 475 crore. As many as 18.88 lakh farmers from the state benefitted in the 18th tranche of PM-KISAN.

Assam Agriculture Minister Atul Bora and senior officials of his department attended the Prime Minister’s programme through a video conference from Dispur, Guwahati, today. Speaking to the media after the release of the 19th tranche of PM-KISHAN, Minister Atul Bora said, “Compared to the 18th tranche of PM-KISHAN, ten percent more farmers have been added to Assam’s list of beneficiaries in the 19th tranche. Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma’s thrust was on including more farmers under the scheme.”
