Guwahati: 30.5 kg of cannabis seized; one arrested in city

Guwahati: A joint team of the Special Operations Group (SOG) and Gorchuk Police intercepted a vehicle (AS01ES9991) near Garchuk Flyover on Sunday morning.

In an attempt to evade arrest, the vehicle tried to ram into a police unit but was successfully chased down by the alert officials. Upon search, 30.5 kilograms of cannabis was recovered from the vehicle.

The driver, identified as Daithun Boro (23) of Goreswar, was arrested on the spot. Legal proceedings have been initiated, and further investigation is underway.
