

GUWAHATI: The birth anniversary of His Holiness Akhanda Mandaleshwer Sri Sri Swami Swarupananda Paramhansa Deva and Her Holiness Mahasanyasini Sri Sri Sanhita Devi was observed with Nikhil Biswa Akhanda Sanmelan, a five-day elaborate programme, which culminated on Saturday. Upasana and Hari Om Kirtan marked the five-day event, which witnessed a congregation of thousands of followers of His Holiness Akhanda Mandaleshwer Sri Sri Swami Swarupananda Paramhansa Deva and members of Akhanda Sanghathan from Eastern India. On the first day of the programme, December 30, 2024, the newly constructed mandir at Ajayachak Ashram in the Colony Bazar area of the city was consecrated by Sri Sri Tapan Brahmachari, present head of Akhanda Sanghathan.
The mandir pratistha was originally done on June 29, 1969, and reconstructed recently on the plot of land allotted to the Ajayachak Ashram by the Government of Assam in 2000.
The high point of the birth anniversary celebration was the Brahmaputra Parikrama, where hundreds of followers of His Holiness Akhanda Mandaleshwer Sri Sri Swami Swarupananda Paramhansa Deva and members of Akhanda Sanghathan sang Hari Om kirtan on board three ferries in the Brahmaputra on the concluding day on Saturday. There were also public lectures on the importance of spirituality, morality, and ethics in daily life by eminent spiritual Gurus during the event.
