Guwahati: The newly opened Terminal 2 of Guwahati’s Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport has won the prestigious International Architectural Award 2025 in the Transport category.

This global honour celebrates the terminal’s unique design, which beautifully reflects the culture and natural heritage of Northeast India. Inspired by the strength of bamboo and the elegance of the foxtail orchid ,two iconic symbols of the region :the terminal blends modern infrastructure with traditional elements.

Designed with a focus on sustainability and cultural identity, Terminal 2 stands as a tribute to the biodiversity, beauty, and spirit of Assam and the Northeast.

This recognition not only places Guwahati on the global architectural map but also highlights how local inspiration can shape world-class design.
