Guwahati: In a significant move aimed at promoting public accountability and strengthening citizen engagement, the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) on Monday launched the ‘Assam Justice Portal’, a digital platform designed to document governance failures and respond to public grievances.
The platform was formally inaugurated at Rajiv Bhawan, the APCC headquarters in Guwahati, by Leader of the Opposition, Assam Legislative Assembly, Debabrata Saikia. The Assam Justice Portal will serve as a virtual interface between the people and the opposition, allowing citizens across the state to report issues related to healthcare, education, infrastructure, Panchayati Raj institutions, and other public services.
“This portal is a step toward making the opposition more responsive and responsible,” said Saikia. “It will empower people to raise their concerns and directly draw the government’s attention to areas where governance is falling short. This platform will also help us hold the government accountable where governance is lacking.”
Congress leaders emphasized that complaints submitted on the portal would be reviewed and forwarded to the concerned government departments for appropriate action. They also underlined the platform’s role in documenting under-reported issues, especially from rural and semi-urban areas.
APCC described the initiative as more than just a grievance redressal system — positioning it as a data-driven political instrument to highlight persistent administrative lapses and neglect, particularly in marginalized regions. By capturing ground-level feedback and turning it into actionable insights, the party hopes the portal will strengthen democratic participation and reinforce its commitment to transparent, people-centric governance.
