GUWAHATI: The Unique Identification Implementation Committee (UIDIC) meeting for the state of Assam was held on June 2 at the CS Conference Hall, Kaziranga, in the State Secretariat, Guwahati. The meeting was chaired by Assam Chief Secretary Ravi Kota and attended by Bhuvnesh Kumar, chief executive officer of UIDAI, along with senior officials from various state government departments.

The meeting featured a detailed presentation by the UIDAI Regional Office, Guwahati. The presentation included an action taken report on key points discussed in the previous meeting, as well as the current progress made by the state in Aadhaar enrolment, updates, and its application in service delivery schemes and good governance initiatives.

During the meeting, extensive discussions were held on improving Aadhaar saturation across different districts. Specific focus areas included the ongoing Mandatory Biometric Update (MBU) drive, enrolment of children under Aadhaar, and the use of Aadhaar-based authentication in public service delivery.

The CEO of UIDAI highlighted the significance of the MBU and child enrolment drives and also introduced the key features of the Beneficiary Satyapan Application, aimed at enhancing Aadhaar authentication by state departments.

In his concluding remarks, the Chief Secretary directed all departmental heads to develop a comprehensive action plan in coordination with UIDAI Regional Office, Guwahati. He emphasized the need for timely and effective implementation to meet the set targets within a defined time frame.
