Guwahati: A district-level awareness and benefit saturation camp was held on Thursday at the Integrated District Office, Kamrup in Amingaon, as part of the Dharti Aaba Janbhagidari Abhiyan. The event was organized under the ongoing Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh 2025, an initiative launched by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs towards inclusive governance and tribal empowerment.
Addressing the gathering, Minister for Environment and Forest etc., Chandra Mohan Patowary, reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring that every member of the tribal community has access to the benefits of Central and State welfare schemes.
“The Central Government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is committed to the holistic development of tribal communities. However, due to lack of awareness, many tribal members are still excluded from the ambit of welfare schemes. This must change through intensified, doorstep-level outreach efforts by the District Administration in collaboration with various grassroots stakeholders,” the Minister stated.
The day-long camp aimed to raise awareness about a wide range of government schemes, with special focus on World Sickle Cell Day. Information and assistance were provided on key welfare schemes such as the Ayushman Bharat Card, PM-Kisan Scheme, Jan Dhan Yojana, Ration Card distribution, Aadhaar enrollment, e-Shram registration, and other government initiatives targeted at tribal welfare.
